Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe and stable
• Provide high-quality oncology nursing care across the continuum from diagnosis through treatment and transition to end-of-life care
• Administer and manage intravenous therapies, blood products, and central line care with strict infection prevention practices
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Respond to cardiac and medical emergencies, participating in rapid response processes as needed
• Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed, collaborating with interdisciplinary partners like PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
• Support patient and family education around treatment plans, symptom management, and post-discharge needs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Ohio)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; experience must be within the last 3 years with at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass
• BLS required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; ONS Chemo certification preferred
• Comfort and experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac monitoring response
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, and accessing/managing ports preferred
• Able and willing to float to other MedSurg Oncology units and work variable weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
• IV therapy, central line and port management, and blood product administration
• Infection prevention best practices and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with Alaris pumps, GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, and Stryker beds
• Tracheostomy care and basic respiratory support familiarity
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and clear communication skills
