Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to ICU patients
- Assess patients continuously and implement nursing interventions
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to create and adjust care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor and document patient status, trends, and responses to interventions
- Educate patients and families about care plans and progress in a clear, respectful way
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license valid in California
- Experience working in an ICU or critical care environment
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required depending on unit
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and technical skills
- Ability to work independently on per diem shifts and integrate quickly with existing teams
- Up-to-date immunizations and any facility-mandated health requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven critical care skills including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Familiarity with ICU documentation systems and electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex patients
- Comfortable with rapid decision-making in high-acuity situations
