Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality circulating care throughout the intraoperative period — your actions keep surgeries running smoothly
• Coordinate with the surgical team to maintain sterile technique and ensure equipment readiness
• Advocate for and monitor patient safety, positioning, and physiologic status before, during, and after procedures
• Manage supplies, instrumentation counts, and documentation to support efficient OR flow
• Assist with patient transfers, handoffs, and clear communication with nursing and surgical teams
• Support perioperative preparation and patient education to reduce anxiety and improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Colorado or compact RN licensure accepted as applicable)
• Experience or demonstrated competence in perioperative/operating room nursing preferred
• Familiarity with circulating duties and intraoperative patient care; CAH experience is a plus
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; CNOR or perioperative certifications encouraged but not mandatory
• Reliable transportation — car required (no local public transit or ride-shares available)
• Willingness to live in shared housing if using employer-provided accommodations (no pets or partners/families in provided housing)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control in the OR
• Skilled in instrument handling, counts, and supply management
• Comfortable with orthopedic, endoscopy, spinal and general surgery case types
• Excellent communication skills for clear handoffs and teamwork
• Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and adapt in a fast-paced OR environment
• Basic EMR/charting competency and accurate documentation practices
