Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients using Epic for charting
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to rhythm changes and alarms
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility policies and procedures
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures and discharge instructions to support recovery
• Assist with unit needs by floating between like units as required to maintain patient care coverage
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (North Carolina licensure required; pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Comfortable with Epic charting
• Ability to safely manage patient ratios of approximately 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Willingness to work every-other-weekend and float between like units when needed
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record
• Solid clinical assessment and urgent response skills for acute care patients
• Good time management and prioritization during 12-hour night shifts
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Familiarity with short-term acute care and trauma center workflows
