Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and mechanical ventilation management for critically ill patients
• Perform bedside bronchoscopy and advanced airway procedures when required
• Operate and troubleshoot PB980 ventilators, V60 NIV systems and F&P high flow devices
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate findings to the multidisciplinary team
• Deliver patient-centered care that models AIDET and the hospital core values
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and other care team members to optimize respiratory outcomes
• Float between campuses as needed while maintaining consistent standards of care

Qualifications

• Active VA license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• RRT credentialed by the NBRC
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of critical care respiratory therapy experience
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, NIV and high flow therapy
• Comfort performing bedside bronchoscopy and critical care procedures
• Experience using Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator titration
• PB980 ventilator operation and V60 noninvasive ventilation
• Fisher & Paykel high flow systems
• Bedside bronchoscopy support
• Critical care assessment and respiratory diagnostics
• Meditech documentation and electronic charting
• Strong patient communication using AIDET and excellent teamwork skills
