Endoscopy Tech
Location: Seattle, WA
Start Date: 05-18-2026
End Date: 08-17-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 day shifts, 07:00 AM - 05:30 PM (flexible start times), every other weekend required; on-call with 45-minute response (estimated 132 hours/month)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist physicians intra-procedurally for general and advanced therapeutic endoscopy (ERCP, EGD, colonoscopy, EUS, EBUS)
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing to maintain patient safety
- Manage room turnover and restock supplies to keep the department running smoothly
- Set up procedures and assist with biopsies and specimen handling with careful labeling and documentation
- Operate and assist with specialized equipment such as ERBE and fluoroscopy (C-arm) when indicated
- Process and clean instruments, including washer/sterilizer workflows
- Support infection control and universal protocol (time out) procedures at every case
- Document care in the charting system (Epic preferred) and communicate effectively with the care team
- Provide compassionate care across age groups — pediatrics through geriatrics — in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Troubleshoot procedural equipment and escalate issues to maintain procedural flow and safety
Qualifications
- Required: MA-Certified OR Surgical Tech OR Nursing Assistant certification (HARD STOP)
- Required: BLS certification
- Minimum: 1 year experience in an Endoscopy/GI lab
- Ability to respond to on-call activation within 45 minutes
- Willingness to work every other weekend and a flexible schedule to cover listed start times
- Preferred: CBSPD, NAC, USAP MAC Sedation, advanced therapeutic training
- Preferred: Experience with Epic charting
- Comfort working in a level II trauma, tertiary medical center with mixed inpatient/outpatient caseloads
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- MA-Certified, Surgical Tech certification, or Nursing Assistant certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Scope reprocessing and high-level disinfection (HLD)
- Procedural assistance for ERCP, EGD, colonoscopy, EUS, EBUS and bronchoscopy
- Instrument processing, sterilization/disinfection, and room turnover
- Specimen handling: biopsies, cytology, microbiology, pathology labeling
- Familiarity with ERBE electrosurgical units and fluoroscopy equipment
- Infection control practices and universal protocol (time out)
- Ability to care for patients across the lifespan (pediatrics to geriatrics)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills (Epic preferred)
