Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry rhythms closely and escalate changes promptly to Charge RN, Rapid Response, or provider
• Perform thorough med-surg assessments and intervene when patient acuity shifts
• Administer IV therapy, IV antibiotics, and manage tube/PEG feedings safely and confidently
• Document patient care clearly and efficiently in the Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team — support CNAs, assist other nurses, and float to med-surg units or the ED holding pod as needed
• Participate in shift huddles and follow unit policies to promote consistency and patient safety
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios and prioritize patient comfort, dignity, and outcomes
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to work in NC preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years nursing experience (as stated)
• Proven telemetry rhythm monitoring experience (must have)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Experience with Cerner EMR documented in previous roles
• Experience with IV therapy, tube/PEG feeding, and IV antibiotics
• Dependable, punctual, team-oriented, and able to float to med-surg and ED holding pod when requested
