Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (schedule varies; includes weekends — 4 weekend days in a 6-week track). Night shift, floating to other telemetry units as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and proactively identify dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
• Manage and administer cardiac drips and heparin protocols as directed
• Interpret dysrhythmias and collaborate with the team during rapid responses and codes
• Provide central and peripheral line care and blood product administration with precision
• Start and maintain IVs and support pre and post cardiac cath and surgical care
• Document clearly in EPIC and use SBAR to communicate effective handoffs
• Work closely with heart failure navigators and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Adhere to unit policies, call-off policies and participate in required orientations and competency checks

Qualifications

• Active RN license (current and unencumbered)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac telemetry nursing experience (HARD STOP)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Comfortable with cardiac drips including Cardizem (Diltiazem), Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix and Heparin
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• Able to float to other telemetry units and meet weekday/weekend coverage requirements

Education

• Active RN licensure (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation
• Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips and heparin protocols
• Pacemaker care and post-procedure monitoring
• IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, blood product administration
• Experience with EPIC, Pyxis and SBAR communication
• Rapid response and code team participation
• Non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula care
• IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
