Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care including bathing, dressing, turning and passing trays
• Assist patients with ambulation and mobility to promote safety and independence
• Perform routine care tasks and maintain patient comfort during 12-hour shifts
• Communicate observations and concerns clearly with the charge nurse and care team
• Document care accurately using the facility charting system (MatrixCare)
• Support the Emergency Room/ED/MS Swing unit as directed and float to Acute/Swing bed when required
• Follow unit policies, infection control practices and maintain patient safety at all times
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing training to ensure quality care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience with demonstrated CNA skills
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and rotating between day and night
• Willingness to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Ability to float to Acute/Swing bed unit as needed
• MatrixCare experience and ER exposure are a plus

Education

• CNA certification (required)
• BLS (AHA) certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fundamentals in basic patient care: bathing, turning, dressing and feeding assistance
• Skilled in safe patient ambulation and mobility assistance
• Experience with passing trays and providing routine patient comfort
• Familiarity with MatrixCare charting system (preferred)
• Ability to work in an acute/ER environment and adapt to fast-paced situations
• Good communication, teamwork and time management skills
• Comfort managing a typical ratio of up to 1:15 and prioritizing patient needs
