Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute care inpatient rehab setting and develop individualized, goal-driven care plans
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions across orthopedic, neurologic and cardiopulmonary cases
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care, collaborating with PTAs, OTs, SLPs and rehab techs
• Document thoroughly and promptly in Cerner PowerChart to ensure continuity of care
• Use safe patient-handling equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove) and follow best-practice safety protocols
• Communicate evaluation results and progress clearly with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (job listing notes Experience: 2)
• Acute care experience preferred (at least 1 year preferred), with experience in orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary highly valued
• Comfort working in a fast-paced inpatient acute rehab environment with 1:1 patient ratios

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient evaluation, care plan development and therapeutic intervention
• Experience using Cerner PowerChart for documentation
• Skilled with patient lifting and mobility equipment and safe transfer techniques
• Strong clinical judgment in acute care rehab scenarios
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
• Ability to manage a caseload while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
