Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to assigned patients using Cerner EMR
• Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and treatments overnight to ensure continuity of care
• Perform or assist with occasional procedures such as pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members—CNCs, CNAs, HUCs—to maintain safe patient ratios (typically 1:4 or 1:5)
• Triaging and prioritizing care during the night to address urgent patient needs and support smooth handoffs
• Maintain unit standards, follow hospital policies, and contribute to a positive, team-focused environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (posting lists License RN/CNA as required; RN licensure expected for this RN role)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (posting indicates 2 years)
• BLS certification required
• Chemo certification preferred (candidates with this will be considered first)
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Comfort with occasional procedures such as pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis
• Team-player attitude and willingness to learn in a dynamic oncology/women’s surgical unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing knowledge and familiarity with oncology/women’s surgical patient care
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to manage patient loads at typical unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• Clinical skills for monitoring and responding to overnight patient needs
• Familiarity with basic unit equipment and hospital policies
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
