Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders and perform thorough medication verification to ensure patient safety
• Dose and monitor vancomycin, aminoglycoside, and anticoagulant therapies
• Compound sterile IVs and supervise technicians during sterile compounding processes
• Manage Pyxis and Pak Edge dispensing checks and oversee first dose and emergency med box checks
• Provide pain consults and collaborate with clinical teams on medication management
• Use Dose Edge and Meditech for order verification, documentation, and workflow efficiency
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians to maintain high standards of practice

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) (required)
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (as indicated)
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience preferred for candidates with neonatal exposure

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication verification and clinical dosing (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulants)
• Sterile compounding workflows and Dose Edge verification
• Experience with Pyxis and Pak Edge medication systems
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Supervising pharmacy technicians and managing decentralized pharmacy operations
• Conducting pain consults and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
