Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality progressive care nursing for PCU patients, focusing on neuro and trauma needs
• Perform timely neuro and spinal assessments and document changes clearly in Cerner
• Manage advanced equipment and procedures including IV/PCA pumps, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and feeding tubes
• Administer blood transfusions and titrate IV infusions safely per protocol
• Assist with C-collar placement, TLSO brace application, trach care and other critical interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Support safe patient handling using lifts and Skylift devices to prevent injury
• Provide patient/family education and compassionate bedside care during critical recovery periods

Qualifications

• Active RN license (as required by assignment) with at least 2+ years clinical experience (comfort in PCU/Neuro/Trauma preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Demonstrated experience with neuro and trauma patient care (chest tubes, trachs, neuro checks)
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and documentation workflows
• Comfort using and troubleshooting IV pumps, PCA pumps, and patient lift equipment
• Team-player attitude, strong communication skills, and patient-focused bedside manner
