Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and create individualized occupational therapy plans that promote independence
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve daily living skills, mobility, cognition, and participation
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans and ensure continuity across services
• Document progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record to support quality outcomes
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies and home programs to maximize gains
• Adapt treatment plans based on patient response and clinical best practices to achieve measurable goals
• Participate in team meetings and discharge planning to support safe transitions and optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy license in California (required for practice in state)
• NBCOT certification or equivalent credential preferred
• Active BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Clinical experience in acute, inpatient rehab, or skilled therapy settings preferred
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EMR/charting expectations
• Ability to commit to a 13-week travel contract and work Monday through Friday schedule

Education

• Entry-level Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent degree meeting state licensure requirements)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized OT assessments and functional evaluations
• Proficient in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
• Comfortable with patient and family education, discharge planning, and community resources
• Strong clinical reasoning, time management, and interdisciplinary communication
• Familiarity with common assistive devices, splinting basics, and adaptive equipment recommendations
