Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms and sterile supplies so procedures run safely and smoothly
Assist surgeons and scrub team by passing instruments and anticipating needs
Maintain strict sterile technique and uphold infection control standards
Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are clean, functional, and ready
Participate in orientation and collaborate with the care team to support patient outcomes
Document case details and support perioperative communication clearly and professionally

Qualifications

Surgical Technologist experience (prior OR experience preferred)
Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training
Certification such as CST preferred or eligible to obtain certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required where applicable
Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding
Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail

Education

High school diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Aseptic and sterile technique mastery
Familiarity with common surgical instruments and procedures
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and support fast-paced OR workflow
Effective communication with surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff
Basic equipment troubleshooting and inventory management
Accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols
