Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care to adult and geriatric patients in an ICU setting
• Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator and BiPAP/CPAP maintenance
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias; respond quickly to emergencies
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips and manage continuous IV sedation safely
• Perform arterial and central line care and manage arterial lines for accurate monitoring
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust interventions accordingly
• Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE use to protect patients and staff
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (per facility/state requirements)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with ICU/critical care experience preferred
• Experience with Epic electronic charting (required)
• Neuro ICU experience preferred but not required; neuro skills are a strong plus
• ACLS and BLS preferred; NIHSS preferred for stroke-focused care
• Comfortable with high-acuity skills: ventilator management, arterial/central lines, ABG interpretation

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and ICU workflow
• Ventilator management and respiratory care (ETT suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP)
• Cardiac monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and dysrhythmia management
• Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips; continuous IV sedation management
• Arterial line and central line care/management
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Neurological assessment skills (CVA/acute stroke care, ICP monitoring, EVD/Lumbar drain familiarity)
• Proficiency with Epic charting and electronic documentation
