Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing and mobility in a respectful manner
• Support a safe and clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Document resident observations and care provided in a timely, accurate way
• Collaborate with nurses and care team members to deliver person-centered care
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, kind communication

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in the state of Maine
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Valid state CNA license and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently on per-diem assignments
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, mobility)
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Good charting and documentation habits
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork-oriented mindset
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes in condition promptly
