Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care to residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and positioning to prevent falls and promote comfort
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and contribute to care plans
• Uphold infection control and safety standards to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and multidisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (state certification required or eligibility to obtain)
• High school diploma or equivalent (see Education section for details)
• Comfortable working in per diem/on-call schedules and flexible shifts
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and escalate concerns appropriately

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in providing ADL assistance and bedside patient care
• Skilled in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Teamwork and effective communication with clinicians and support staff
• Ability to respond calmly in urgent situations and follow direction
