Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy assistance to patients under the supervision of an OTR
• Implement individualized treatment plans that promote independence and functional gains
• Monitor patient progress and adapt interventions to meet evolving needs
• Document treatments, outcomes, and patient education clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and safety strategies to support long-term success
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that encourages recovery and dignity

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Current or eligible to obtain state licensure/registration in North Carolina
• Experience in rehabilitation or restorative care preferred
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic techniques for enhancing daily living activities
• Ability to perform patient assessments and carry out treatment plans
• Knowledge of safety, mobility, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Proven ability to document outcomes and communicate with the care team
• Comfortable working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced rehab setting
