Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients under the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board requirements to ensure continuity and compliance
• Assist in maintaining the therapy department and keep treatment areas clean and safe for patients
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to support interdisciplinary planning
• Instruct patients, families, and nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training to promote safe discharge plans
• Assist nursing with training restorative aides and in-service training programs to elevate team skills
• Report equipment issues and coordinate maintenance so treatments can proceed without interruption
• Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans with supervisors and other health team members

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in good standing with the state board (required)
• Must meet continuing education requirements per state practice and maintain active licensure
• Proficient computer skills with experience inputting data into systems such as Casamba and PointClickCare
• Ability to relate positively and professionally with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues
• Experience in direct patient care and rehabilitation best practices
• Comfort and experience with caregiver/restorative aide training and in-service education

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (state board licensure required) and maintenance of required continuing education

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and treatment plan execution
• Patient documentation and weekly progress notes per PT Board standards
• Care coordination within an interdisciplinary team
• Therapy rehabilitation techniques and restorative care
• Familiarity with Casamba and PointClickCare electronic documentation systems
• Strong communication skills for patient/family instruction and team collaboration
• Equipment maintenance awareness and reporting
