Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed PT
• Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers and ADL (activities of daily living) support
• Monitor patient progress, document treatment accurately, and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehabilitation staff to create cohesive care plans
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and ensure treatment areas are ready for patients

Qualifications

• Current, active PTA license in the state of North Carolina (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable providing care across all ages seen at the facility and working across weekends
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with charting expectations
• Willingness to complete facility-required immunizations and onboarding paperwork

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of clinical supervised practice as part of the PTA curriculum

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and gait training
• Knowledge of modality use and safe patient handling procedures
• Ability to perform objective outcome measures and track patient progress
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate multidisciplinary care
• Competent with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and compliance standards
