Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients in the psychiatric program
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans that support treatment goals
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and, when appropriate, groups
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, mental health staff, and correctional personnel
• Oversee therapeutic meal planning and ensure menus meet clinical requirements
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in patient records per facility policy
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility protocols
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient nutrition services

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
• Available to start 2026-03-30 and commit through 2026-08-17 for this 6-month assignment
• Available to work Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, full-time (40 hours/week)
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in a multidisciplinary clinical environment
• Experience in medical, psychiatric, or correctional settings is a plus

Education

• Registered Dietitian credential (RD)
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical nutrition assessment and care planning
• Therapeutic diets and menu development
• Counseling and patient education techniques
• Clear, compliant clinical documentation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team
• Familiarity with regulatory and safety considerations in correctional healthcare
