Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional abilities and assist in developing individualized treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic activities and adaptive equipment recommendations under supervision
• Assist patients with daily living tasks to maximize independence and safety
• Monitor progress, document interventions clearly and update the care team
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety strategies, and community resources
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Maintain professional standards, follow facility protocols, and support a culture of compassion

Qualifications

• Current COTA certification (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by the facility
• Ability to work day shifts including weekends per assignment schedule
• Professional, patient-centered approach with strong communication skills
• Facility-required background checks and immunizations must be completed

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on skills in implementing occupational therapy interventions
• Knowledge of ADL training, adaptive equipment, and mobility techniques
• Comfortable with patient documentation and electronic medical records
• Strong observational and clinical reasoning skills
• Team-oriented mindset and effective communication with interdisciplinary staff
• Ability to manage changing patient priorities across a busy schedule
