Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for incarcerated adults
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are practical and recovery-focused
• Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches
• Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessments in a calm, professional manner
• Collaborate with custody staff, medical providers, and mental health teams to coordinate care
• Maintain timely, clear, and compliant clinical documentation
• Support reentry planning and continuity of care through referrals and resource coordination
• Contribute to program development, training, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist (PSY) in California or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) also accepted
• Active, unrestricted license in good standing or eligibility to obtain California licensure
• Experience providing mental health services in challenging or high-acuity settings is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and therapeutic skills
• Ability to work professionally within a correctional setting and comply with facility requirements

Education

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (degree appropriate to licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions
• Skilled in individual and group therapy modalities (CBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
• Crisis intervention and suicide/risk assessment expertise
• Excellent written documentation and communication skills
• Cultural competence and ability to engage diverse populations
• Collaborative approach to interdisciplinary care and case management
