Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care across inpatient areas, using both invasive and non-invasive ventilator management
• Assist with intubation and perform arterial blood gas analysis to guide clinical decisions
• Provide medication delivery, pulmonary hygiene, hyperinflation therapy, and high-flow/CPAP/BiPAP management
• Safely transport critically ill patients with artificial airways and coordinate home oxygen assessments
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid, multidisciplinary patient care
• Document care in EPIC and collaborate with nursing, hospitalists, and the ICU team to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT via NBRC) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) acceptable
• Current Colorado respiratory license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience in acute care
• Comfortable with ventilator management (invasive and non-invasive) and emergency response
• Ability to be on-site for orientation week and maintain appropriate driving documentation within a 60-mile radius

Education

• CRT (NBRC) or RRT certification; Colorado respiratory therapist license

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management, including 980 ventilator and V60 familiarity
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation
• Proficiency in pulmonary hygiene techniques and hyperinflation therapy
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and high flow systems
• Strong emergency response and intubation assist skills
• Charting proficiency in EPIC and clear clinical communication
