Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform sterile compounding with strict adherence to safety and aseptic technique to ensure patient safety
• Manage Pyxis operations: deliveries, inventory maintenance, and monthly outdates to keep medication access seamless
• Conduct crash cart checks and refills to maintain emergency readiness
• Prepare and dispense medications using Epic and Pyxis, ensuring accurate documentation and charting
• Triage phone calls and respond to medication messages in a timely, professional manner
• Support medication inventory management and monthly outdate processes
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams across ER, ICU, imaging, cath lab and inpatient units
• Participate in department orientation and follow hospital policies to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) — PTCB certification required
• Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician license (CO Technician License) required
• Minimum ~2 years experience in hospital pharmacy operations with sterile compounding experience
• Proficiency with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and Epic EHR
• Ability to work 10-hour shifts and every-other-weekend schedule
• Valid driver's license and willingness to meet radius requirement (DL must be submitted)
• Friendly, flexible, and hardworking attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) via PTCB
• Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician license

• Sterile compounding techniques and aseptic procedures
• Pyxis inventory management and dispensing workflows
• Epic EHR medication dispensing and documentation
• Crash cart maintenance and emergency medication readiness
• Medication storage, outdates, and monthly reconciliation
• Phone triage and responding to medication-related messages
• Comfort working across ER, ICU, inpatient, imaging, cath lab and hospice settings
