Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients across the lifespan — pediatric, adolescent and geriatric — to develop individualized plans of care
• Provide hands-on treatment and therapeutic interventions to help patients progress to prior level of function or maximum medical improvement
• Perform timely reassessments and update treatment plans according to policy and patient progress
• Supervise and instruct professional and supportive staff, volunteers, students, and Physical Therapist Assistants
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including progress notes, daily notes and special reports
• Counsel patients and families to support rehabilitation goals and promote functional independence
• Operate and manage therapy equipment safely and assist with patient transfers and mobility
• Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Department Manager and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care

Qualifications

• Earned degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program (required)
• Current Colorado Physical Therapist licensure (required)
• Experience providing care in inpatient and outpatient settings, including swing bed evaluations
• Ability to supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and guide support staff
• Strong communication skills and the ability to counsel patients and families effectively
• Manual dexterity and physical ability to lift/move patients and maneuver equipment (≥ 20 pounds); agility for frequent position changes
• Willingness to cover occasional weekends as needed
• CPR/AED certification preferred

Education

• Earned degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and assessment across pediatric, adolescent and geriatric populations
• Treatment planning and implementation with regular reassessment
• Comprehensive patient documentation and progress reporting
• Supervision and mentorship of PTAs, students and support staff
• Manual therapy skills, safe patient handling and mobility assistance
• Ability to develop and follow a Plan of Care toward functional goals
• Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills for patients and families
• Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient and rehabilitation workflows
