Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating nights across weekdays and weekends (schedule released 4-6 weeks in advance). Expect 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments possible and floating across Zone 1 facilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care for adults and geriatric patients in a float pool environment
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry, identify changes, and intervene appropriately
• Administer and titrate heparin drips per protocol while closely assessing patient response
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, physicians, and unit staff to coordinate care
• Adapt quickly to different unit cultures and patient acuity while maintaining safe nurse to patient ratios
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain compliance with unit and hospital protocols
• Act as a reliable floating resource across MS-Tele, PCU/Stepdown, ICU low-acuity holds, and specialty units

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for practice in Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of MS-Telemetry nursing experience (required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA); NIHSS certification required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and heparin titration
• Comfortable with float pool expectations and working across multiple facilities
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Prior neuro experience preferred

Education

• Active RN license (Colorado)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition skills
• Cardiac, neuro, and general medical-surgical knowledge
• Ability to manage post-op and specialty patient populations (oncology, renal, ortho, trauma)
• Competence with respiratory support equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, ventilator basics) and working with RT
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization, and adaptability for floating assignments
• Effective communication and teamwork across departments and facilities
