Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement selected components of physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist
• Provide compassionate patient interventions across settings — inpatient, outpatient, and home health
• Collect and document objective data related to interventions and patient progress
• Modify interventions as directed by the physical therapist to progress patients or ensure safety and comfort
• Assist in treating individuals across the lifespan, from newborns to the elderly, addressing functional mobility and daily living activities
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, physicians, and the rehabilitation team
• Operate rehabilitation equipment safely and maintain a clean, well-organized treatment environment
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented clinic culture and report to the Rehabilitation Manager

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with certificate
• Currently credentialed by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board (Colorado PTA licensure)
• Verification card of current instruction in BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Minimum of 2 years of PTA experience (outpatient experience preferred)
• Inpatient experience is required — must be comfortable working in acute care settings
• Bi-lingual capabilities a plus
• Ability to perform technical procedures, communicate astutely, and exercise independent judgment when needed

Education

• Certificate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and rehabilitation care across ages
• Implementation of treatment interventions and modification per PT direction
• Thorough documentation and charting practices
• Experience in a rehabilitation gymnasium and use of therapy equipment
• Comfort working in inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings
• Strong communication skills with interdisciplinary teams and patients
• Infection control awareness and safe handling of clinical exposures
