Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography exams following department protocols and radiologist direction
• Maintain high-quality imaging through daily QA, preventative maintenance, and equipment checks
• Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA standards to protect patients and staff
• Educate patients, confirm identity through two identifiers, obtain informed consent, and review histories
• Document procedures accurately in the EHR and ensure proper charging and record-keeping
• Maintain accreditation records and ensure compliance with FDA and other regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service when needed
• Assist with clerical duties, patient transport, and cross-training of imaging staff as directed
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and departmental performance initiatives

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) — required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
• Preferred: Two years' clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist with exposure to CT and MRI
• Preferred cross-training or experience in CT, MRI, and DEXA
• Experience with PACS, RIS/HIS, and electronic health record systems
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful completion of background check and pre-employment drug screen

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of mammography imaging procedures and breast imaging protocols
• Understanding of radiation safety principles (ALARA) and regulatory requirements
• Hands-on experience with QA processes, preventative maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting
• Proficiency with PACS, RIS, HIS, and EHR documentation
• Excellent patient communication and education skills
• Ability to maintain accreditation documentation and structured reporting
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and collaborate with a care team
