Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care tailored to each resident’s needs
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
- Monitor and document patient status, reporting changes promptly to the care team
- Assist with activities of daily living and promote resident comfort and dignity
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to support care plans
- Maintain clear, timely charting in the patient record and follow facility policies
- Support a positive, resident-centered environment through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — New Mexico licensure preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- At least some hands-on LPN experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility background checks
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Vocational Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe charting practices
- Basic patient assessment and vital signs monitoring
- Experience with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety protocols
