Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility while encouraging independence
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Document care and observations clearly and promptly in the facility record
• Support residents socially and emotionally—be a friendly, reassuring presence
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• Valid state-required credentials for New Mexico or ability to obtain them
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach to resident care
• Comfortable working overnight hours and thriving in a fast-paced environment

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; active CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Basic vital sign assessment and documentation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Observation skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
• Respect for resident dignity, privacy, and individualized care plans
