Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during night shifts
- Perform thorough assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the chart
- Respond to urgent situations calmly and according to protocols
- Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Mexico
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Previous acute care or med-surg experience is preferred but motivated new grads welcome to apply
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
- Comfortable working independently on night shifts and communicating effectively with the care team
- Flexible availability for per-diem assignments, including nights and occasional weekends
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competence
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Patient and family education skills with empathy and clarity
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- Teamwork and effective verbal/written communication
