Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting)
• Assist patients with mobility and transfers while ensuring safety and dignity
• Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support mealtime assistance and record intake as required
• Collaborate with nurses and other caregivers to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
• Follow infection control practices and facility safety protocols consistently
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification recognized in New Mexico
• High school diploma or GED (see education for full details)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working 12+ hour night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM) as assigned
• Ability to pass required background check and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA program; High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs
• Skillful in safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
• Accurate charting and attention to documentation detail
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Teamwork and effective communication with clinical staff and families
