Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shifts (rotating/no-set-schedule): 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; must be available for 2-3 day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) for orientation. Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule (night weekends are Friday & Saturday). Holidays as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform remote surveillance of cardio-pulmonary rhythms from the centralized command center, monitoring up to 45–60 patients using advanced IT systems
• Accurately recognize, record and report potentially dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established protocols
• Communicate clearly and promptly with local RN staff and charge nurses to escalate emergent situations
• Follow command center policy and established procedures to support patient safety and department metrics
• Document events and actions in Cerner and support accurate charting and handoffs
• Collaborate with supervisors, directors and on-site teams during go-live and mandatory in-person sessions
• Participate in cross-training opportunities to expand skillset (Virtual Patient Companion, Clinical Connection Specialist)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program that includes EKG interpretation (completion of a monitor tech/ECG program required)
• BLS certification required
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to start (lethal rhythms are pass/fail; single attempt allowance noted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience (3 years preferred)
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends and holidays as required
• Must be available for 2–3 day shifts for orientation when assigned
• Cannot hold another job while on assignment (per facility requirements)
• Comfortable working in a centralized monitoring environment under RN direction

Education

• Graduation from an accredited program including EKG Interpretation (monitor tech/ECG program). BSN not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac rhythm recognition and EKG interpretation expertise
• Telemetry monitoring and remote surveillance best practices
• Familiarity with GE and Ascom monitoring equipment
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Strong communication protocols and escalation workflows
• Ability to manage multiple patients concurrently and prioritize effectively
• Attention to detail, situational awareness, and commitment to patient safety
