Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients during overnight shifts
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per facility policy
• Assess and monitor patient status, reporting changes promptly to the care team
• Perform timely and thorough charting to maintain clear patient records
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and support staff to coordinate care plans
• Support patient safety and comfort during the night, including responses to urgent needs
• Assist in admissions, discharges, and effective patient handoffs at shift change

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (required)
• Current state and facility-required immunizations and health screenings as applicable
• Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred; per diem experience welcomed
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Willingness to work overnight shifts on a per diem basis

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• LPN diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid fundamentals in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring
• Medication administration and accurate documentation practices
• Basic wound care and ADL support for patients
• Infection control practices and safe clinical technique
• Ability to prioritize tasks during busy overnight hours and respond calmly in urgent situations
• Professional bedside manner and clear communication with patients and families
