Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and craft individualized occupational therapy plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily living, mobility, and independence
• Collaborate closely with nurses, PTs, SLPs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on home strategies, adaptive equipment, and activity modification
• Document clinical findings, progress notes, and discharge planning clearly and on time
• Recommend and train on adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to maximize safety
• Support discharge planning to ensure safe transitions back to home or community settings

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) eligible or licensed in California — California licensure required prior to start
• NBCOT certification or national credentialing preferred
• Comfortable working in variable schedules and adapting to changing patient needs
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication skills, and teamwork mindset
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) preferred or required by facility

Education

• Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MOT/OTD) or equivalent entry-level OT degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments, ADL/IADL retraining, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Experience with documentation in electronic medical records and insurance-focused charting
• Knowledge of evidence-based OT interventions across acute and post-acute settings
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers clearly and compassionately
• Good time management and prioritization to meet a busy caseload
