Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat acute care patients with evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve mobility and function
• Develop individualized treatment plans and update goals based on patient progress
• Document assessments and treatment in EPIC promptly and accurately
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to support safe discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education to promote independence and continuity of care
• Adhere to facility policies and safety standards, including infection control and patient privacy

Qualifications

• Nebraska Physical Therapy license required (ETA ~3-4 weeks; compact eligible noted)
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience (acute care preferred)
• Current BLS certification required
• Driver's license required at submittal (used to confirm radius eligibility)
• Comfort working in a 100% acute care environment and with trauma Level 2 patients (preferred)
• Ability to comply with facility policies (e.g., fingernail/artificial nail policy for patient care areas)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven acute care physical therapy skills and clinical assessment techniques
• Experience with EPIC charting and timely documentation
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Knowledge of safe patient handling, mobility training, and discharge planning
