Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to medical/surgical and critically ill patients from admission through discharge.
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment including ventilators, multiple IV pumps, invasive lines and A-lines, and chest tubes.
Perform thorough patient assessments and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
Deliver ventilatory support and complex IV management, ensuring safety and optimal patient outcomes.
Act as a clinical leader: mentor and precept staff, give direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs and support staff, and support unit workflow.
Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, supervisors and nursing leadership to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
Maintain accurate documentation, participate in emergency response (utilizing ACLS/BLS skills), and support quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Current RN licensure in the State of Montana (required).
BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
PALS, EPNC, TNCC certifications (preferred).
Recent experience in Critical Care and practice on an advanced Medical/Surgical unit (required).
Demonstrated ability to operate advanced medical equipment (ventilators, A-lines, invasive lines, IV pumps, chest tubes).
Experience in precepting, clinical leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Degree in Nursing; RN education complete).

Knowledge & Skills

Critical care nursing principles and advanced patient assessment
Mechanical ventilation and ventilatory support management
Central line and invasive line care (including A-lines)
IV management and operation of multiple IV pumps
Chest tube management and post-procedural monitoring
Clinical leadership, precepting, and discharge planning
Proficient patient monitoring and use of advanced medical equipment
