Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and delivery nursing care, supporting patients through low- and high-risk labor
• Monitor fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring/C-EFM and perform non-stress tests as needed
• Circulate and/or scrub for cesarean sections and assist in cesarean recovery and PP D&C care
• Perform newborn care and neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and support immediate postpartum needs
• Document accurately and timely in Epic, including L&D hardstops and unit-specific workflows
• Float to Mother/Baby when needed and assist with postpartum/newborn transitions
• Respond quickly and effectively to obstetric emergencies, providing ACLS/BLS interventions when required
• Precept and mentor colleagues when requested, helping build stronger clinical teams

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Certifications required: AWHONN Advanced (hardstop) or C-EFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Experience with Epic charting and familiarity with Epic hardstop workflows
• Comfort circulating and scrubbing for C-sections and providing newborn care
• Ability to float to Mother/Baby and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Precepting experience preferred but not required
• COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guidelines

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery management and familiarity with AWHONN standards
• Fetal monitoring interpretation and conducting non-stress tests
• Cesarean section assistance (scrub and circulate) and OR teamwork
• Neonatal care and resuscitation skills (NRP)
• Epic electronic charting, including unit-specific hardstops
• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring interpretation
• Set up delivery table and manage immediate postpartum procedures
• Strong clinical judgment, emergency response, and communication skills
