Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality labor and delivery nursing care for low and high-risk obstetric patients
• Assist in and circulate for cesarean sections and post-operative recovery when needed
• Perform newborn care and neonatal resuscitation following NRP guidelines
• Monitor maternal cardiac status and interpret telemetry and non-stress tests
• Document patient care accurately and timely in Epic
• Float between Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby Unit as required to support patient flow
• Collaborate with OB physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for complex patients
• Support unit orientation and precept new staff when assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience (obstetric/L&D experience strongly preferred)
• Active RN license in California (pending licenses are not accepted)
• ACLS and BLS required
• AWHONN Advanced fetal monitoring certification required prior to submission - C-EFM accepted in lieu if applicable
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) and NRP required
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Comfort circulating or scrubbing for C-sections and providing newborn care
• Precepting experience preferred but not required
• Ability and willingness to float to Mother-Baby Unit and to Providence Little Company of Mary San Pedro if needed

• Labor and Delivery management and maternal-newborn care
• Cesarean section assistance and recovery procedures
• Neonatal care and newborn resuscitation (NRP)
• Electronic charting in Epic
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Non-stress test setup and interpretation
• Emergency care for obstetric and neonatal situations
• Ability to set up delivery table and support complex labor patients
