Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care to low- and high-risk obstetric patients
• Circulate and scrub for C-sections and support cesarean recovery
• Perform fetal monitoring and telemetry interpretation; manage non-stress tests and FHM
• Deliver neonatal care including NRP when indicated and assist with newborn assessments
• Float to Mother/Baby unit as needed and coordinate seamless mother-infant transitions
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Respond quickly and effectively to obstetric emergencies and collaborate with rapid response teams
• Precept and mentor colleagues when asked, helping to build a stronger unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS (BCLS), and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced is a hard requirement prior to submittal; C-EFM will be accepted in lieu of Advanced AWHONN
• Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) certification and demonstrated telemetry/cardiac monitoring skills
• Proven ability to circulate and scrub for C-sections and to float to Mother/Baby unit
• Precepting experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to work weekends and nights as needed

• Labor and Delivery management and Mother/Baby (MBU) care
• Circulate and scrub for C-section procedures
• Neonatal resuscitation and newborn care
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Fetal monitoring (C-EFM/FHM) and non-stress test setup
• Epic electronic charting proficiency
• Strong clinical judgment in high-volume obstetric settings
• IV skills and ability to collaborate with IV teams and other interdisciplinary supports
• Baby Friendly experience and mother-infant bonding best practices
