Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour surgical technologist OR blocks (exact start/end times and days to be determined)

Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room by assembling and sterilizing instruments and supplies
Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols
Ensure accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps before, during, and after procedures
Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and support staff to keep cases running efficiently
Document case details and equipment usage clearly and promptly

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
Previous OR or surgical tech experience is a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with sterile processing and instrument handling
Familiarity with common surgical instruments and OR procedures
Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and maintain composure under pressure
Effective communication and documentation skills
Commitment to patient safety and infection control practices
