Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate respiratory care to patients of all ages using evidence-based practices
Manage ventilators and respiratory support equipment safely and effectively
Perform respiratory assessments and monitor patient progress, adjusting care as needed
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans
Provide patient and family education on respiratory conditions and therapies
Document interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT or RRT) as required by state scope of practice
Valid state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Missouri (or ability to obtain)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS) a plus
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with patients and staff
Comfortable with clinical documentation and following facility policies and procedures

Education

Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with ventilator management and respiratory support devices
Skilled in arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Able to provide patient education and family support
Competent in documentation and following clinical protocols
