Start Date: 04-30-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour pre-op pediatric shift (exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed), orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate pre-operative nursing care to pediatric patients
Perform thorough pre-op assessments and prepare children for procedures
Communicate clearly with families to explain preparation and expected processes
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team for safe care
Document patient assessments, interventions, and handoffs accurately
Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices
Ensure infection control and child-friendly safety measures are followed

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or eligibility to obtain one
Experience or training in pediatrics or pre-operative nursing preferred
Current BLS required; PALS preferred
Ability to pass required background checks, immunization, and health screens
Strong communication skills and a family-centered care approach

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pre-operative assessment and pediatric care knowledge
Comfort working with infants, children, and adolescents
Excellent documentation and handoff skills
Ability to calm and engage children and anxious caregivers
Team collaboration in a surgical/perioperative setting
Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
