Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality pediatric critical care to PICU patients as a Registered Nurse
• Monitor and assess patients continuously, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while maintaining strict safety standards
• Educate and support families with empathy, helping them navigate care plans and updates
• Participate in orientation and onboarding activities to maintain unit standards and best practices
• Document patient care thoroughly and communicate handoffs clearly to ensure continuity

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Massachusetts licensure required or eligible)
• Experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) strongly preferred
• Comfort with critical care skills: ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, IV/med administration
• Demonstrated teamwork, strong communication skills, and a patient-family centered approach
• Willingness to complete oriented onboarding as provided by the facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care principles and best practices
• Familiarity with common PICU equipment (monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps)
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in fast-paced situations
• Proficient clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to provide family-centered education and emotional support
