Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days/nights possible); primary scheduled option: Night 3x12, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Schedule assignments reviewed every 4 weeks; weekend coverage varies based on unit needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Float confidently between Oncology Medical-Surgical and PCU units to meet patient and unit needs
• Provide thorough patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation using EPIC
• Manage telemetry and cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately
• Administer IV therapy including blood products, PICC/central line care, and start IVs as needed
• Support respiratory needs including HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• Participate in rapid response and code teams, and provide emergency interventions when required
• Collaborate with Corrections Officers and interdisciplinary teams to maintain safety and coordinated care
• Deliver compassionate care for patients with active oncology diagnoses, post-op needs, and complex medical conditions

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• BLS required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (must meet requirement within the past 3 years) and at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass
• Comfortable working in a locked corrections environment and following facility security protocols
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, Charge RN experience and Oncology experience

Education

• Active RN license required; Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing fundamentals
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• IV therapy, central line/PICC management, and blood product administration
• Feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, and renal failure care
• Use of Pyxis medication system and strong EPIC documentation skills
• Respiratory care: HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen delivery and non-invasive airway management
• Familiarity with heparin protocols, PCA, IV insulin protocols and related endocrine care
• Rapid response/code team participation and strong emergency response skills
