Roles & Responsibilities

Provide attentive post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in the PACU, ensuring smooth, safe recoveries
Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and airway status; intervene promptly when changes occur
Administer medications and IV therapies per protocol and document accurately
Communicate clearly and compassionately with families about their child’s status and care plan
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure seamless handoffs
Participate in orientation and facility-specific training to maintain high standards of pediatric care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Ohio (OH) preferred or eligible
Experience or clinical comfort working in PACU or post-anesthesia settings with pediatric patients
Willingness to complete required facility orientation and onboarding
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and compassionate bedside manner

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in pediatric post-anesthesia care and recovery monitoring
Familiarity with PACU equipment, monitoring devices, and documentation standards
Skilled in IV management, medication administration, and assessment of pain and airway status
Excellent communication and teamwork skills when coordinating care with surgical and anesthesia teams
Ability to provide family-centered education and reassurance during the recovery process
