Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans for labor and delivery patients
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and update care plans based on patient progress
• Provide clinical leadership and supervise the patient care team during assigned shifts
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless transitions
• Document and report patient care, outcomes, and any changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Teach, mentor, and provide performance feedback to team members to support continuous improvement
• Manage bed and patient assignments to optimize patient flow and consistency of care
• Maintain infection control and safety standards while promoting a healing environment

Qualifications

• ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) — required
• RN licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation — required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification — required within 1 year of hire (Sarah Bush Lincoln)
• BLS/CPR certification — required within 90 days of hire (highly preferred to have at hire)
• ACLS — highly preferred within 90 days of hire
