Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor hemodynamics, and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and titratable drips according to protocols and provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, including ventilators and advanced monitoring devices
• Document care and communicate clearly with families and team members to support continuity of care
• Support unit-based quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN licensure as applicable
• Clinical experience in an intensive care unit (ICU) — demonstrated comfort with critical care nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) highly preferred
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to manage complex patient needs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where noted by facility.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication titration
• Familiarity with electronic medical record charting and documentation best practices
• Strong infection control practices and adherence to patient safety protocols
• Ability to prioritize and triage in a fast-paced critical care environment
